DIALYSIS ACCESS SURGERY​

Dialysis access for renal failure patients can be a challenging field. At YVS we work closely with our Nephrology colleagues and offer the full spectrum of surgical dialysis access options including AV fistula creation and placement of long term haemodialysis catheters (perm cath) for haemodialysis, and tenchkoff catheter insertion for peritoneal dialysis.

 

We place AV fistulas on a regular surveillance plan as they often need repeat procedures to maintain good flows. These procedures can usually be performed minimally invasively through endovascular techniques.
